Request for speaker about art & social awareness in New York

Hello, my name is Liliana Saplontai and I am currently a senior at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. I am working on an Independent project, which looks at how the arts and creative expression can be used as an instrumental tool to bring about awareness, critical thinking, solidarity amongst people and thus promote social change. I am organizing a two day Mini-Festival to take place on the 5th and 6th of May, 2011. I am trying to bring a speaker from outside to come speak during the festival. I'm wondering if there is someone that would be able to come on one of the days to give a talk or workshop at my university?
